Central High School and its student-led ICARE group are proud to continue the legacy of John Lawlor (Class of 2016) by enhancing and expanding the Hill of Heroes. Originally envisioned by John as a meaningful tribute to military personnel and first responders, the Hill of Heroes was brought to life in the spring of 2016. Recent upgrades include a new retaining wall, a seating area, and a commemorative stone donated by the Class of 1965 to honor their fallen classmates.
Now, the community has an opportunity to honor their loved ones and heroes by purchasing a commemorative stone paver to be added to the memorial. These stones will form a pathway flanking both sides of the Hill, leading visitors up to the tribute.
Available in three sizes, the pavers offer a unique way to memorialize and celebrate individuals who have made a lasting impact on the community. Patrons can also choose to have personalized images engraved on their stones for an additional fee, adding a special touch. All proceeds support ICARE and its annual charitable initiatives, continuing their mission of making a difference.
